Municipal Court Warrants in Custer County
Oklahoma Title 11 gives municipal courts original jurisdiction over city ordinance violations. They also take local traffic matters. Miss a setting or ignore a compliance order, and the court can issue an arrest warrant or bench process. Each city keeps its own file, so a municipal warrant may never show up on OSCN as a District Court event, and the Custer Sheriff inmate search may miss it too. That is why the agency named on the citation matters so much in Custer County. Clinton Police citations route to Clinton Municipal Court. The Clinton page sends OHP citations to Custer District Court in Arapaho instead. Keep those two paths straight, because mixing them wastes time.

No countywide municipal warrant search form covers Custer County, so go through the city court on your notice.
How to Check a Municipal Court Warrant
Gather the citation number, the agency, the court date, and the city first. Then call the municipal clerk. Ask whether a failure to appear or a warrant was entered, what amount is due, whether the court will reset the date, and how a recall gets recorded. If the notice points to District Court instead, switch to the Custer County Court Clerk and search OSCN or ODCR by case number.
- Identify the city court and issuing agency.
- Call the clerk with the citation or case number.
- Ask for current status, fee, balance, and next appearance.
- Use the Sheriff's contact only for service or custody questions.
- Keep written confirmation of payment, recall, or a new date.
Clinton's Published Municipal Process
Clinton's official page lays out real consequences. Failure to appear or failure to pay can bring a Court Clerk-issued arrest warrant plus a $25 warrant fee. The court takes cash, money orders, and credit cards, no checks, and offers an online "Pay Other" route. Let 60 days pass without appearance or payment and the case goes to collections with an added 35% on the fine total. Remember these are Clinton Municipal Court figures, not a Custer County fee schedule. Ask the clerk whether your citation sits in collections, whether the warrant is still active, and whether payment alone clears the order. Read Clinton's municipal court rules before you choose a payment route.
Weatherford's Clerk Route
Weatherford Municipal Court names Beth Watkins as clerk, reachable at 580-772-1206 and wmcourt@cityofweatherford.com, with the court at 522 West Rainey Avenue. The court covers criminal, traffic, and juvenile matters and posts weekday hours. Custer County lists no public warrant search or recall form for Weatherford. The Weatherford open-records form supplies the request fields.
That Weatherford open-records form shows how to ask for an existing city record. You supply contact details, a purpose, a description, an attachment, and a signature. It is not a warrant-status form. The fee amount is not printed on it.
Arapaho Code and Municipal Warrants
Arapaho Code §32.40 spells out the municipal warrant machinery in Custer County's county seat. A verified complaint is made under oath, a municipal judge approves it, the warrant is commanded to the marshal, and the marshal, police, or another lawful person executes it. The code gives a process framework, not a live search result or a current fee. Because Arapaho is the county seat, the municipal court and the District Court sit in the same town but stay separate offices. Verify the dated town-office contact before relying on it, and use 675 West B Street for the county courthouse route. Read the Arapaho municipal warrant code for the local rule.
What a Municipal Court Warrant Shows
A city record can show a citation or case number, the local charge, the issuing court, the balance, an FTA, the warrant fee, payments, and a recall event. Fields vary by city. Some protected personal data may be left out.
| Citation or case | The city identifier used by the clerk. |
|---|---|
| Issuing city court | The municipal court that controls the process. |
| Ordinance or traffic charge | The local violation tied to the case. |
| Fee or balance | City amount, including a researched Clinton fee when applicable. |
| FTA or warrant event | The court action after missed appearance or nonpayment. |
| Clearance | Payment, appearance, recall, or new setting recorded by the court. |
A Custer County city payment page is never proof that a District Court order was cleared.
County Sheriff Service of City Warrants
Title 11 §11-27-113 lets municipal process go to the chief of police, the county sheriff, or another peace officer, and it allows service anywhere in Oklahoma. So the Custer County Sheriff may serve a city warrant even though the municipal court stays the office that issued it and the only one that can recall it. For custody or service questions, the Sheriff sits at 300 North 7th Avenue. The city clerk still controls the case, the fee, payment, and recall. A jail result cannot certify a city court status.
Municipal-Court Personal Information
Public access has limits. Oklahoma law protects Social Security numbers, bank information, credit-card data, juvenile material, sealed records, and other confidential content, so ask for the public portion of an existing Custer County record and accept redaction where required. When you submit a city records request, name the city, the record type, the date range, the citation or case number if known, and the disposition or recall field you want. The Oklahoma Open Records Act rewards specificity and segregable portions; it does not create a new people roster.
Resolving a Municipal Court Warrant
Call the issuing city court before you pay anything or show up. Ask whether a warrant issued, what fee and balance apply, whether the court can reset the date, and whether counsel should file a motion. In Clinton, confirm the $25 fee, the accepted payments, the no-check rule, and any collections add-on. In Weatherford, Thomas, Hydro, and Arapaho, do not guess a fee or bond route the city does not publish; ask the Custer County clerk of that court instead.
Check first: A municipal payment, a county bond, and a jail custody question are different actions handled by different offices.
City warrants run through the municipal court, not the county. For a District Court matter, use the Custer County bench-warrant route and Court Clerk confirmation instead of a city clerk.
